There is a $1100.00 cap on the purchase of cow\calf pairs. The breakdown is thus: $800.00 is financed to the cow and the balance up to $300.00 is financed to the calf. These two loans are co-joined. The cow portion of the loan is an interest only payment for the first year with the first principal payment being made the following year. It is a 5 year term contract for the cow loan's principal payment but is actually 6 years when the interest only portion is factored in. The calf portion is set up as a feeder loan and is due Dec. 01 unless the calves are sold prior to the due date then the calf portion must be paid out. If you wish to retain the calves at this time, the calves can be written onto a new feeder contract.
Example
- purchase of 10 pairs @ $1100.00 each
- cow portion of loan for $8000.00 (10 cows @ $800.00 each)
- calf portion of loan for $3000.00 (10 calves @ $300.00 each)
